The Book of Ages is an epic fantasy adventure set in the world of Ermhi. It is the first volume of a two book series collectively known as the Vowbreakers of Honor.

What is the world of Ermhi? 

Ermhi is a world where magic is practiced by a few people with the title of runemaster. A runemaster studies for many years to gain their sigil, which is a mark on their palm that allows them to manipulate the many variations of runes. In Ermhi the Eight Gods have created areas guarded by powerful creatures known as guardians, and in these areas are troves of treasure, including the all powerful cards!

What is the magic in The Book of Ages like?

All of the magics use a system of symbols in circular arrays known as runecircles.

The most exciting form of magic is held within cards. The cards were created by the Eight Gods and contain every type of magic conceivable, but they have several drawbacks: they are a one time use, they must be found, and they must be studied ahead of time.

There are also ways for runemasters to use runecircles to their advantage. They can do artificing, which is imprinting magic on physical objects to create devices such as lamps, clocks, and even wings that allow people to fly. The most dangerous of these magics is body magic, which allows a runemaster to enhance themselves such as strengthening their bodies and resisting disease, but there is a stigma to these enhancements...

Who are the characters?

Kailo is the main character. With a tragic past and bright future, he will have to face many trials on his journey to become a full fledged runemaster, from conquering one of the titans of the god Teo-let, to marrying the love of his life, Chey.

Chey is Kailo's love interest. She is a painter who was raised by her father after her mother passed away at a young age. She is kind and fiercely independent.

Natar is Kailo's master. As the runemaster for the small village of Riveniir, he helps people with injuries, questions, and disputes. He is elderly but tough, with a sharp wit and lack of patience for nonsense. He raised Kailo from a young age.

Evestria is the twelfth Oracle of Dawn, a title that sets her apart from humans. She is tied to the fate of the world, and wields immense and unimaginable power. She has one single mission that consumes her every thought. Humanity's future rests in her hands.

Vasi is a strange and mysterious runemaster who is on a mission of revenge. He has pushed the limits of magic in his quest for vengeance. He also seeks to restore the Order of Valor, which hunted down vowbreakers before its annihilation.
